How it works & how to apply it

A shed is a small building with a thin floor, often sitting straight on skids or blocks, and it usually holds exactly what a rodent wants: seed, fuel, foam seats and soft insulation. It is also the easiest building on the property to treat properly.

1·2·3 How to apply it

Empty enough of the shed to reach the perimeter of the floor.
Coat the sill plate all the way around, inside and out where you can reach.
Treat the door threshold and the base of both jambs.
Finish around any gap where the floor meets the wall, and at the corners.

✓ Things to consider

Seed and pet food belong in sealed metal or hard plastic bins, not paper sacks.
Mower and equipment seats are chewed for nesting material. Treat around where they sit on the floor.
A shed on skids has an open crawl space underneath. Skirting it is worth the effort.

✕ Things to avoid

Do not apply to a wooden shed floor where you will be walking or dragging equipment.
Keep gel off fuel cans, fuel lines and the carburettor area of small engines.
Do not treat a shed with an active nest until it has been cleared out.
