Garages & Vehicles — where to use Mint Repel

A garage is the bridge between the yard and the house, and it usually holds a vehicle that will sit unused for weeks. The door seals badly at its bottom corners, and a parked car offers a warm engine bay full of soft wiring.

Where to treat

Both bottom corners of the overhead door and the base of each jamb.
The side door threshold and the sill line inside the perimeter.
Penetrations through the wall shared with the house.
On a stored vehicle: the firewall grommets, wiring looms and the top of the frame rails.
Battery trays and inner fender areas on a car left standing.
Trailer tongues, spring hangers and boat or ATV storage points.

Treat the building first, starting at the overhead door corners.
Run a band along the sill line and brush the thresholds and wall penetrations.
Then treat the vehicle itself, working from ground contact points upward.
Leave the bonnet closed afterwards and check it partway through the season.

How much you need. A quart covers a garage and one stored vehicle. A gallon covers a garage plus several vehicles or a boat.

✕ Watch out for

Do not coat brake components, the exhaust, or anything above 400°F.
Do not apply across the garage floor where you walk or drive.
Do not pack gel into electrical connectors or fuse boxes.
Do not treat around the photo-eye safety sensors at the base of the door track.
